
Our Story
Elizabeth Gibbar is a respected CPA who is trusted by clients for her sage advice on tax planning and accounting expertise. In 2010, she grew her business through the acquisition of Bookkeeping by Cox. In 2013, she expanded her team and her client portfolio through the acquisition of Rich Holmes Associates.
Now, heading up an expanded team, Elizabeth looks forward to serving the Burbank community for years to come.
Meet the Team

Elizabeth Gibbar, CPA
Owner
Before her career as a CPA, Elizabeth held Director and Controller positions for several production and distribution organizations such as C3 Entertainment (The Three Stooges), Fred Wolf Films (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Klasky Csupo (The Simpsons and Rugrats). She also served as the controller for a magazine and conference company that was formed through the acquisition and integration of nine purchased entities.
In the public accounting area, she has worked with various CPA firms that specialized in financial statement audits and tax preparation of non-profit entities.
Elizabeth’s tax practice services individuals, corporations, trusts, partnerships and non- profit organizations.

David Gibbar, MBA
Owner
Keeping it in the family, Elizabeth joined forces with her husband and business partner David Gibbar in 2014. David is a former entertainment industry executive who brings to the table a wealth of understanding and expertise in the company’s day-to-day needs and long-term business organization development. David has over 25 years international and domestic entertainment business experience (distribution, supply chain management, asset control, corporate administration and client service).
An executive manager at both Sony Pictures and Universal Studios, he has a proven understanding of clients’ needs and that customer service is one of the most critical elements in overall client satisfaction. This experience is invaluable to the day-to-day management of the business, in which David plays a central part.

Malinda Holmes
Administrative Manager
One of Rich Holmes two daughters, Malinda worked closely with her father for over 15 years. Applying his principles of efficiency, integrity, and a calm welcoming hand to each client. Malinda is responsible for the day-to-day operations. With long-standing relationships with Rich’s clients, she is always here to listen and advise.

Heather Holmes
Tax Preparer
Heather specializes in the unique needs of entertainment professionals and their businesses, multi-state accounting requirements, and small businesses. Also a daughter of Rich Holmes, she too worked with her father for over 15 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Cal State Northridge and is a CTEC Certified Tax Preparer.

Mike Violette
Tax Preparer
Mike graduated from Cal State Northridge with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He began his career as an auditor with the CA State Board of Equalization (sales tax). He started preparing tax returns with Rich Holmes in 1989. Mike is knowledgeable in entertainment returns and is our long time veteran of the practice.

Anna Ayvazyan
Accountant
Anna graduated from Cal State Northridge with a Bachelor’s degree in finance. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science with a major in computer engineering. She applies this knowledge to her work for clients providing bookkeeping and payroll services.

Gohar Azaryan
Accountant
Gohar performs bookkeeping and payroll services. Intent on advancing her career at Elizabeth Gibbar CPA, Gohar is in her second year at California State University, Northridge, where she is studying for an accounting degree.

Marine Shirinian
Student Intern
Marine is passionate about the accounting world. She is currently in school and is working her way to becoming a CPA. She is our helping hand.

Liana “ Lilly” Cabrera
Receptionist
Lilly has been a key part of the Elizabeth Gibbar CPA team. As receptionist, she is our clients’ first port of call, and her good nature and warm welcome do not go unnoticed. She is genuinely interested in our clients’ business, and her care and attention to their matters is demonstrated by the way in which she keeps our office running smoothly in her role as receptionist.
